Dons Compete With Mules, Green Wave In 7-On-7

Although a temperature gauge at the stadium entrance said 97 degrees, Thursday was 'a beautiful day to get better,' said coach Jeremy Stout, as the Doniphan Dons joined the Malden Green Wave and Poplar Bluff Mules for some 7-on-7 football on the turf at Poplar Bluff High School. There were plenty of positive plays for the Dons, who found the end zone twice against each team. Jordan White came away with an early interception against the Green Wave and quarterback Alex Harris connected on 3 of his first four passes as the Dons drove for an early TD. The Dons will open their second varsity season Aug. 30 with a trip to Cabool.
