Dons Host Thayer, Piggott And Corning For Morning Practice

The Doniphan Dons' four-team practice was a success Thursday morning on the DHS home field. Thayer, Piggott and Corning joined the Dons for a full contact session that left the defenses a bit winded in the heat. But as the seniors know, that's just part of being a football player. Overall, the DHS coaching staff seemed impressed with the effort on the field against some good competition. Doniphan will host the second annual Clash On The Current, a 7-on-7 event, on Thursday, July 29, beginning around 9 a.m. Fans are encouraged to come enjoy the day and see plenty of action featuring the Dons, Kennett, Dexter, Thayer and Corning, Ark. Sikeston also was scheduled to play but has indicated it will not be making the trip. The 'Clash' is sponsored by the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce. Concessions will be available throughout the day.
