Schools Invite Veterans To Special Programs

Area schools are inviting all military veterans to be their special guests for Veterans Day programs.

Doniphan R-I will present a special program at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the middle school gymnasium.

Veterans are asked to meet at the middle school gym by 12:15 p.m.

Guest speaker will be veteran Jerry Sneathern from Poplar Bluff. Presenting the colors will be the honor guard from the criminal justice classes at Current River Career Center.

Veterans and their families are invited to meet after the program for refreshments.

Lone Star R-IV School invites all veterans to attend a special program at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the school gymnasium.

The program will include patriotic songs featuring the grades 5-7 choir, grades 1-4, pre-k and kindergarten.

Gatewood R-III School invites all veterans to join students for lunch from 11 a.m. until noon Monday, Nov. 11. An assembly will follow.

Naylor R-II School invites veterans to attend a special assembly starting at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the school gymnasium. Veterans from all branches of the military will be recognized.
