‘Christmas In The Ozarks’ will be the theme for the Sixth Annual Lighted Christmas Parade to be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in Doniphan.

Everyone is invited to visit with Santa and enjoy refreshments and treats at Heritage Park immediately following the parade.

The parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m. on Highway Street near Hillcrest Plaza. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and follow the traditional route south on Walnut Street to the downtown area.

There is no fee to enter the parade and participate in the judging for the ‘Best of Show’ trophy. Floats and vehicles are required to have at least 100 lights in keeping with the lighted parade theme.

Participants will not be allowed to throw candy during the parade to avoid the risks of children running between cars in the dark.

If you would like to give out candy to the kids, bring it to Heritage Park after the parade.

Participants also are asked to not dress as Santa. There is only one Santa and he will be at the end of the parade. Please let’s not confuse the children.
