The Riverside Art Guild will host a youth art camp July 13-17 for students ages seven and older in Doniphan.

Two sessions will be offered at the DNAP Community Center, 105 Washington St. in downtown Doniphan.

Ages 7-11 years will meet daily from 9 a.m. until noon. This group will learn the process of making paper clay, work with three-dimensional forms with plenty of hands-on fun, painting and creative exploration.

Ages 12 and up will meet daily from 1-4 p.m. This age group will have the opportunity to bind their own sketchbooks, draw in the round and make plantable seed paper. Individual creative thought and expression will be encouraged and explored.

Instructor will be Sara Hoefer, who currently teaches art at Lone Star R-IV School in Ripley County. She is an alumna of Southeast Missouri State University and the Kansas City Art Institute.

Hoefer believes artistic discovery happens through play and she strives to facilitate authentic art-making.

Class fee is $50 per student and covers all supplies and snacks. Students will take home projects.

Class size is limited to ensure personal instruction. Pre-payment in full secures placement. Cash or checks are payable to the Riverside Art Guild and may be mailed to 110 S. Grand Ave., Doniphan, Mo., 63935.
