Ripley County Toys 4 Tots and long-time coordinator Shakey Lynxwiler have an appointment with Santa they are intent on keeping.

So the green light still is a go for the annual Harvest Dinner fundraiser set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at the West Point Church gymnasium.

“We encourage everyone to social distance as much as possible and we want people to do everything they feel is needed to be safe,” said Lynxwiler.

The annual event will feature numerous prize give-aways, the Bill Beardsley Memorial Auction, live music from the award-winning group The Baker Family and, of course, a complete barbecue dinner with all the fixings prepared by Patsy’s Journeyman Restaurant.

Due to postponements of many local activities this year including the Ripley County Fair and Labor Day Homecoming Parade, the drawing for a brand new Blazer SS boat, Mercury motor and Rivercraft trailer was put on hold.

The lucky winner will be drawn during the Harvest Dinner. Tickets are available.

Cost is $100 per ticket with a limit of 200 to be sold. Tickets are available at Current River Marine Sales, D&D Tire And Service Center and Top Quality Rentals And Sales.

Doors open at 4 p.m. The Bill Beardsley Memorial Auction is set for 6:30 p.m. and will include several rare firearms and hunting rifles.

All proceeds go to provide a merry Christmas to the children of Ripley County.
