Community Thanksgiving Dinner Will Be Deliver, Take-Out Only Nov. 23

Each year the Chartwell's Food Service staff at Doniphan R-I prepares around 1,000 free meals for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. This year's event will be Monday, Nov. 23, and will be limited to deliveries and take-outs only due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff is pictured during the 2019 community dinner.

The Doniphan R-I School District and Chartwell’s Food Services have announced the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Monday, Nov. 23, with some changes this year due to COVID-19.

All meals will be for pick-up and delivery only from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the elementary/middle school cafeteria. For delivery, contact the R-I central office at 996-3667, ext. 6.

All meals are free of charge and include turkey with all the trimmings prepared by the Chartwell's staff at R-I. School staff and student groups will be assisting with deliveries.
