Spring Fling Offers $1,000 In Prizes

So what exactly is the ‘Spring Fling’ to be held in Doniphan on April 23-24.

It’s music, prizes, yoga, classic cars, crafts, food, shopping and more.

Members of the Doniphan Small Town Business Alliance have joined with some traditional spring events to make it a fun two days of local activities.

Participating members of the alliance include Current River Fabrics & Quilting, Southern Vintage Boutique, Vintage Village Flea Market, Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant, Fearfully & Wonderfully Made Apparel, Southern Comfort Gifts & Flowers, Here’s Your Sign and the Current River Sheltered Workshop Thrift Store.

Each location will hold a drawing for a $125 gift certificate to their business.

Also on Saturday, April 24, the Farmer’s Market of Ripley County will make its debut on the south lot of the old Meek’s Lumber store on Water Street. Hours are 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Here’s some other events that you don’t want to miss during the Spring Fling.

•Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, 10 a.m. in the DNAP Community Center. Events include Doni-Rocks, a seed and plant swap and a Redbud sapling giveaway.

•Music At Heritage Park. Bands include South Grand from 1-3 p.m. Saturday and Stay The Sane from 8-10 p.m. Saturday.

•Blacksmith Shop Demonstration, 9 a.m. until noon, Pioneer Heritage Homestead, one block south of the courthouse.

•BBA fundraiser for a local cancer patient. Starts at 10 a.m. at the DNAP Community Center.

•Pickin On The Square, 5 p.m. Saturday at the courthouse.

•Active Kat Yoga In The Park. There will be a session in the park each day starting at noon Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.

•Cruisin’ The Park. The first free classic car show of the season will begin around 7 p.m. at Heritage Park.

•Doniphan Women’s Civic Craft Fair, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, at the National Guard Armory, 401 Walnut St.

Various food trucks will be open both days including the Traveling Chef, Fancy Funnel Cakes, Lemonade House Grille, MiCasa, S&M Donuts, Uncle Charlie’s Deep Fryed Sweets and Hillbilly Kettle Corn.
