Ripley County Confirms Another COVID-Related Death

Ripley County officials announced Wednesday morning one new confirmed death of a county resident who suffered from COVID-19 among other underlying conditions.

County coroner Mike Jackson and health center director Tammy Cosgrove made the announcement. The death was the fifth to be confirmed in the county since Sept. 13.

So far in 2021, Ripley County has confirmed 1,008 new cases of COVID-19 with 22 deaths. During 2020, Ripley County had 722 cases and 11 confirmed deaths.

The Ripley County Health Center reported that 33 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday bringing the total so far for the week to 61.
