In today’s society, we see negative behavior that shapes our perception of people in general. Still, when someone acts in the way one should, even when no one is looking, it does not go unnoticed.

Following the Doniphan high school football game Oct. 8 at East Prairie, R-I Superintendent Brad Hagood received a call from the superintendent at the East Prairie school district. The caller wanted to compliment Doniphan fans, coaches and players. He said his maintenance staff came to see him and asked him to call and let Mr. Hagood know that the Doniphan fans cleaned up after themselves and did not leave any trash in the stands. The chain gang on the field also bragged on the Dons coaches and players for respecting their space and allowing them to work.

These acts probably seem insignificant, but they weren’t to the people whose jobs were made a bit easier and who obviously were appreciative of it.

We commend the fans, coaches and players for representing our community so well.
