Officials Confirm One New Death In County With COVID Connections

Ripley County authorities confirmed a new death of a local resident who suffered from COVID-19 among other underlying conditions.

County coroner Mike Jackson and health center director Tammy Cosgrove made the announcement Thursday, Oct. 21

As of Monday, Oct. 25, so far in 2021, the county has recorded 1,185 new cases and 31 deaths.

While a decline in recent numbers is encouraging, the health center staff encourages everyone to continue taking precautions such as staying out of large crowds, washing hands often and wearing masks.
