Naylor Lighted Christmas Parade Set For Dec. 11

Tuesday, November 30, 2021

Naylor’s Heritage Day unfortunately was rained out in October, but the Heritage Day committee took on the task of making Christmas at Naylor bigger and better this year. Everyone in the community seemed to enjoy the lighted nighttime Christmas parade last year. The downtown area will again be lit up with decorations and a lighted Christmas parade on Dec. 11. The grand marshal will be Frieda Stout. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. Entries for the parade will be lining up at 5 p.m. at the high school gym parking lot. School groups, organizations, churches, businesses, classic car owners and individuals are encouraged to participate. Each entry must have some lighting. Light up your horse as well and join the fun.

A chili supper will begin at the Naylor Senior Center at 4 p.m. and continue after the parade. The supper will include chili, dessert, and a drink for $6. Chili dogs, Frito pies, chili in a cup, coffee and hot chocolate for carryout will also be available.

Many great prizes will be raffled off every few minutes near the gazebo between 4 and 7 p.m. Prizes will include a generator, a leaf blower, and many other prizes. Tickets are being sold by committee members and will be available that evening as well. They are $1 each or six for $5.

A great addition this year will be a bagpiper from Cape Girardeau and also a clogging group that will be performing before the parade near the gazebo. Santa will be in the parade and a photo booth will be set up in the warmth of the senior center for pictures with Santa after the parade. Come to Naylor for a festive and fun addition to the holiday season.
