Late Score Helps Mules Down Junior High Dons 22-8

Luke Emmons returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown Thursday night and quarterback Cliff Hodo ran for the two-point conversion as the Doniphan Dons junior high football team opened the home season against the Poplar Bluff Mules seventh-graders. Down 14-8, the Dons held possession with a chance to win with less than one minute to play but an interception return for a touchdown with just one second on the clock made the final score 22-8 in favor of the Mules. The junior Dons will be back in action Thursday, Sept. 19, against West Plains on the home field.
