An estimated 200 Ripley County residents were on hand Saturday for Prayer March 2020 along the streets of Doniphan. The event sponsored by the Ripley County Ministerial Alliance was held at the same time as a national prayer march led by Franklin Graham in Washington, D.C. Participants walked from First Church of God to the Ripley County Courthouse with stops for special prayers for families, our elected leaders, schools, the military, and those with addictions. The route passed by residential areas, Current River Career Center, the old armory, and city hall. At the conclusion, Pastor Monty Flanigan of First Baptist Church announced that a community prayer service will be held at 8 a.m. each Tuesday at Heritage Park until Election Day on Nov. 3.
