Speak Out ... Under Serious Threat

Speak Out:

The “Couvin/George Floyd” verdict is in and to ask if justice was done is not to fault either the judge or jury who did their duty under difficult circumstances. Still, if ever there was a case where the supreme court needs to step in and “take a look”, this is it.

I didn’t watch most of the wall-to-wall TV coverage and, probably unlike most, don’t have an opinion as to the verdict. I don’t, however, live under a rock and the political climate under which this trial occurred cannot be ignored. It is well-known that there was the threat of public violence from the political left if a “guilty” verdict was not reached as well as the spectacle of a Democrat member of the U.S. Congress (from California) appearing in Minnesota (!) (to demonstrate both her usual personal ignorance and unfitness for her own position) to add fuel to the public fire (and you can bet that Pelosi will do absolutely nothing about that.)

The S. Court -- irrespective of whether or not it decides to review this case -- is itself already in the cross hairs of the totally run-amok political left -- which has been trumpeting its intent to add four new members (“pack the court”) to give itself a permanent majority.

I could never have foreseen that, in my lifetime, I would see what is now happening in this country. Our very survival and that of our hallowed institutions is under serious threat -- and FROM WITHIN! This is a revolution but too many of us are desensitized by soft lives to recognize it. The only glimmer of hope I can see is that the race isn’t always to the swift.

A word from the tortoise.
