Speak Out: Storm Watchers Are A Blessing

I want to comment on the storm that passed through on May 4. I’m a senior citizen and I live alone with no family close by. I woke from the tornado siren going off. It gave me time to be prepared for the electric going out and the heavy wind and rain that came shortly after. What I took comfort in was personally knowing some of the people who respond to emergencies in our town. The storm watchers from the fire department are a blessing. I want to say thank you to them. I was able to take shelter in the most secure location of my house with a flashlight and blanket when the worst part of the storm was taking place. I appreciate the work they do.
