Students from Pilgrims Rest Academy in Fairdealing stand with a 72-inch red oak log. From left, Tommy Green, Melissa VanDover, James Martin, Ronda Wiley, Jessica Samples, and Carrie Emmons. The log was cut from the Dawsey Ellsworth property south of Highway 160 by the banks of Little Black River. It took both skidder and fork lift to load the log onto the truck to transport to Bill Emmons’ sawmill. The log had an estimated 600 board feet within.
