The market barrow and lamb sale and the 'bull bust' were the featured events Friday, Sept. 6, at the Ripley County Fair. Thirty-six livestock entries raised by FFA and 4-H students brought average prices of $662 for hogs and $390 for lambs. Beef cattle aren't sold during the auction but bidders do have the chance to purchase the champion and reserve champion ribbons, which averaged $343 this year.
