Eclipse On The Current Crowds Shop Doniphan Citywide Today

Saturday, April 6, 2024

It's a perfect day for a yard sale, and as Doniphan hosts its annual city-wide yard sale, today the entire city is transformed into a veritable market place. Bargain hunters were out early, and food trucks and vendors are offering about anything from soup to nuts...literally. The yard sale is set to close up shop at around 2 p.m., and the community will continue its Eclipse on the Current celebrations at Heritage Park with a family festival and street dance beginning at 6 p.m., hosted by DJ Vern Wagner. It's back to Heritage Park on Sunday afternoon. Billy Yates will take the stage as he plays host to a "battle of the bands" type outdoor all-day music concert. The performance will feature the area's best country and blue grass talent, with different bands and/or vocalists every hour, the last one taking the stage at 10 p.m. The music will provide the backdrop for the Arts and Crafts two-day festival which will feature a live art mural, vendors, food trucks, a color run and more fun. Then, on Monday, as the moon and sun claim attention as star performers, Kat Robinson of Active Kat Yoga studio will lead the community in "Yoga in the Park" throughout full eclipse and until about 1:58, when totality ends. She invites the community back to The Station for an aerial yoga circus. Doniphan is the place to be for the best viewing of the Great American Eclipse.
