Emmett Dean Henson

Emmett Dean Henson, age 72, passed away in the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. He was born Aug. 24, 1951 in Jonesboro, Ark.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia Tucker who he married on May 19, 1968 in Sikeston, Mo.

He had worked as a truck driver for a block company. He had served as a dispatcher for the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department and had picked cotton in his life. He had served in the National Guard.

He liked playing music, woodworking, mowing grass and playing with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.

Emmett is also survived by his children, John Dean Henson of Harviell, Mo.; Jerry Lee (Sheila) Henson of Doniphan and Christy Lynn (Steven) Kirkman of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Nelson of Leeton, Mo. and Wanda Jo Clayton of Booneville, Ark.; grandchildren, Jody, Bobby, Shelby, Sydney, Michael and Hannah and great-grandchildren, Layla Jane, Hollis Kate, Holden, Mia, Selina, Moriah, Matthew, Amberlin, Adalee and Aria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Emmett Henson and Bonnie Mae (Darnell) Henson; two daughters-in-law, Jennifer Payne and Jenny Hill; sisters, Shelby Jean Hastings, Marie Carter, Zella Mae Harrison, Betty Ellen Barnett and Maxine Leroux; brothers, William Joe Henson and Garland Henson and one great-grandchild, Eli.

Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Mo. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at Fowler and Sons with Pastor Russell Chitwood officiating. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
