    Editor, Any law abiding citizen who cherishes their freedom to own a gun should be more than willing to have vigorous gun controls in place, thorough background checks strictly enforced and license required. This would preserve and respect the rights of qualified individuals and curb the rampant gun violence that is sweeping our country. It’s a daily occurrence, totally uncivilized senseless killing with guns. Please, responsible gun owners, understand there must be one standard for gun ownership: Responsible and qualified. Please help pass common sense laws to keep guns out of the hands of those who use them to kill people.”.. ...

    Going For The Gold At Sigma Xi Sorority Easter Egg Hunt
    After a year off due to COVID-19 restrictions, Easter Egg hunts bounced back this year much to the delight of many youngsters. In Doniphan, the hunt with the longest tradition is sponsored by the Sigma Xi Sorority. On Saturday, April 3, more than 100 children, parents and grandparents gathered at His Place Fellowship for the big event. Special guest was the Easter Bunny. It took just a few minutes for the enthusiastic kids to find several hundred eggs.
