Toys 4 Tots Harvest Dinner Set For Nov. 6
It will be a tough night to go home empty-handed at the Ripley County Toys 4 Tots Harvest Dinner.
This year’s dinner will open at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church Parish Hall in Doniphan.
Admission is by donation and includes a barbecue dinner with all the trimmings prepared by Patsy’s Journeyman Restaurant. Serving will begin shortly after 5 p.m.
Guest entertainers will be The Baker Family of Cabool, Mo. The award-winning bluegrass, gospel and country family band performed at last year’s harvest dinner and quickly won a following.
The annual Bill Beardsley Memorial Auction will begin around 6 p.m. and is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Featured items will include baked goods, a custom-made quilt and more than a dozen hunting rifles.
A grand prize drawings will be held for a bolt action .308-caliber Weatherby Vanguard synthetic rifle from Whisnant Arms in Doniphan (must be present to win.)
The grand finale will be the drawing for a brand new Blazer SS boat, Mercury jet motor and Rivercraft trailer from Current River Marine Sales.
This is the fifth year for Ripley County Toys 4 Tots and Current River Marine Sales to sponsor a boat drawing. Toys 4 Tots coordinator Shakey Lynxwiler announced earlier this week that tickets for the boat are sold out.
“I would like to invite everyone to come to the Harvest Dinner and enjoy a great evening with friends while helping make Christmas time better for the children of Ripley County,” Lynxwiler said.
Special guests planning to attend include State Sen. Karla Eslinger and Rep. Darrell Atchison.
Those planning to provide baked goods for the auction may bring items to the St. Benedict Parish Hall after 3 p.m. or leave them at Patsy’s Journeyman Restaurant before 3.
This year’s Ripley County Toys 4 Tots giveaway for the kids will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 18, at the St. Benedict Church Parish Hall.
