Demolition Derby Returns To Ripley County Fair In August

The demolition derby will make its return to the 2022 Ripley County Fair.

Come one, come all, to the Ripley County Fair. This Aug. 3-6, at the Ripley County Fairgrounds off Highway 142 East just outside Doniphan, come enjoy the wide variety of events and displays, food and games! Wind down – or up – in the evenings with traditional events like music, games, the Loggers’ Relay, Bull Bust and Truck Pull, or “collide” with modern events as The Demolition Derby makes its grand return to Ripley County this year.

There’s more to be excited about besides the return of the derby – old favorites will be back and better than ever, too. We need your help to revitalize the Home Economics showcase, which will now have five divisions: Foods, Preservations, Agricultural Products, Household Arts and Visual Arts. Many other exciting favorites will be back, too! Here’s a brief rundown:

Wednesday, Aug. 3 - Fair Pageants, Coon Dog Treeing contest and Loggers’ Relay. Registration is required in advance for Coon Dog contest and Logger’s Relay. Contact Warren Bland at 573-996-6060 to register.

Thursday, Aug. 4 - Livestock Judging, Live Music, Bull Bust – Calf Riding, Steer Riding, Chute Dogging and Open Bulls. Registration required in advance, contact Chalk Bluff Rodeo Co. at 573-624-2830 to register or for more info.

Friday, Aug. 5 - 4H/FFA Livestock Market Sale and Demolition Derby.

Saturday, Aug. 6 - Pancake Breakfast (8-10 a.m.), Horse Judging, Kids Day, Tug of War, Benefit Auction, Mini-tractor Pulls, Purman Fire Department Fish Fry and Truck Pull.
