And Another Thing!

Old Man winter is at it again. It wouldn’t be right for us to enjoy some gradual warming into Springtime, which is only a month away. No, winter had to come back and try to muck up the roads and yards with more snow and cold. As I write this, there is a snow forecast for later this evening. It’s almost like winter comes back into our lives with, “And another thing”.

You know, sometimes when we get into passionate exchanges, we don’t always remember to say what we wanted to say. We try to make a point, but when we leave the room, we remember another point that could and might help our argument. I have heard the phrase “And another thing”, many times. I have even used it myself.

I think even God uses the phrase, “And another thing”, except He always follows it with “I Love YOU”. John 3:16 is an AAT statement, “For God so loved the World…” Every act, every moment in the Bible is a continuing reminder of God’s love for us. His Holy Spirit continues to remind us of His love.

You can add, “And another thing, I love you,” to every phrase Christ used in the Bible. Every act, every word is filled with I love you. Even on the cross, while hanging on the tree, Christ stated His love for us when He asked God to forgive us becasue we knew not what we did.

We are now in the Lenten season of the Church Calendar. We are preparing for Easter, but we also must walk through Good Friday. It is Good Friday that we see God’s love for us, “In that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 8:5). Our sins caused the Cross, our Sins led to Christ’s death. He told us all the way to the cross, that He loved us. On the way He healed, He prayed, He fed, and he brought back to life. His entire message was of God’s love for us.

Then on Good Friday, Christ was put to death. He was the lamb that paid the price for my sins and your sins. Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all”. Christ paid the debt we could not pay.

And on Easter Morning, the tomb is Empty, Christ is raised, and He gives the equivalent of “And another thing, I LOVE YOU!”

Folks, please do not let this Easter go by without telling someone of the love of God. And after you tell them, tell them again. Show them the love of God. Bring them to church with you. Offer to read the Bible with them or to them. Let them know that God is going to keep trying to bring them to Him.

God never gives up and neither should we. Oh, and another thing, God Loves You!

Just a thought.

Shalom my friends. See you in church.
