Merrilee Johnson

Merrilee Johnson, age 91, of Fairdealing, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Johnson was born July 25, 1932, in Fisk, Mo., daughter of the late Holly and Lottie Branch. 

Merrilee loved square dancing. She also enjoyed shopping with her friend Betty. She loved being a grandmother and had a very special bond with her grandson Dylan. 

On Jan. 21, 1952, she married Ronald Eugene Johnson. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2008. She is survived by son: Rick (Amy) Johnson of Hermann, Mo, and daughter: Rhonda Slayton of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two siblings: Frances (Leonard) Tomes of Harviell, Mo. and Bob (Helen) Branch of Pevely, Mo. In addition to her parents and late husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters; four brothers; and one great-granddaughter:  Mackenzie Jones.

Visitation was held Saturday, March 23 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services followed in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. Burial was in Shain Memorial Cemetery in Fisk. Condolences:  www.whitesandersfuneralhome.com
