Dan passed away in Wichita, Kan. on March 13, 2024 following a sudden illness. He left this world with loving family by his side. He was born on Feb. 4, 1947 in Saint Louis, Mo. to Daniel Malachy Molloy Sr., and Mary Jane (O’Neill) Molloy, both of whom proceeded him in death. Dan was also proceeded in death by his loving sister Nancy LaChance and niece Kelly Molloy.

Dan graduated from McBride High School in Saint Louis in 1965. He enlisted in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and served as a Turkish linguist for the NSA until he was honorably discharged in 1971. After his discharge he met his wife of 52 years, Marsha Jane Miller. They were married on March 17, 1972. Dan graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla in 1976 with a degree in Civil Engineering and started his career with S.H. Smith and Company in Poplar Bluff, Mo. shortly thereafter where he worked for 40 years. He took great pride in his work projects which primarily consisted of water and wastewater treatment systems.

Dan loved fishing, gardening, Cardinals baseball, spending time with his grandchildren and his home in the woods near the Current River. Dan was very athletic in his youth and enjoyed baseball and soccer.

Dan is survived by his wife, Marsha Jane (Miller) Molloy, his children Daniel (Nadia) Molloy of Springfield, Mo., Elizabeth (Steve) Hwang of Wichita, grandchildren Christian Hwang, Faith Hwang, Tanisha Williams, Zach Williams, Kayden Cornell, Skylar Cornell, Zoey Williams, his siblings, Maureen Totterer, Mary Anne Molloy, Patrick Molloy, brother-in-law John LaChance, and nieces Hannah, Tracie, Kiley and Taryn.

Due to logistical issues, no formal services are planned at this time. However, a celebration of life will be held at a time and place to be determined.
